Dear Editor:
Maybe you could pass this unto the head of the county water department and post this as a warning to all those anxious to have county water. On April 22 of this year my daughter and husband closed on a house at 555 West Forest Park Trail. They have 2 meters there, one for the house and one for the lawn irrigation. In early June they received their first water bill. The sprinkler bill was $633 for the 5 or so weeks. Since they have lawn only in the front yard they thought this might be excessive and phoned the county water to get an explanation.
Two days later a supervisor came to inspect what was wrong. In those two days my son in law (a certified home inspector) removed the 1 1/2 feet of soil and dug up the tree roots above the meter that was suppose to be read on April 22nd. He ask the supervisor how the meter reader could read the meter with 1 1/2 feet of soil covering it. The supervisor just smiled and shrugged and said he would be back in touch with them. Some seven weeks later we have not heard from him. So early this week I called spoke to a person and her transferred my to someone’s voice mail. Of course I have not heard from anyone. Could you please forward this to both the person on the county commission who represents that area, and the head of the county water department as well as sending their phone numbers to me so I can call them after they do not reply again?
Just a side bar a friend of mine had a similar situation with the Vero Water Department on 17th Avenue near the library where he lives and his problem was resolved in 24 hours. Thank you
John Wester

Glad to see you put the discussion back on course, Captain.
