The Exchange Club of Indian River presented a certificate of appreciation and a gift certificate to Todd Howder, president of the 2014 Vero Beach Air Show, in honor of his contributions to the community. President David Walker presented him with this special award in gratitude for the air show’s contribution of $25,000 to the Indian River club’s Foundation. Other local organizations that received $25,000 from the proceeds of the show include the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast, Exchange Club of Vero Beach, and the Veterans Council of Indian River County.

The air show, featuring the United States Navy’s Blue Angels and nine other nationally known award-winning acts, was held at the city’s municipal airport Mother’s Day weekend. Exchange Club of Indian River held a free raffle drawing in honor of all mothers at the show. The winner of the basket of luxury prizes was Lisa King of Port Saint Lucie.

Exchange Club of Indian River has provided the community with programs in youth activities, service, and Americanism since 1973. It is affiliated with America’s service club, the National Exchange Club. Members meet for lunch at Culinary Capers each Wednesday at noon. Meetings feature programs on a wide range of business, government and civic, charity, personal, and professional topics. The foundation’s fishing tournament, held each May, supports these projects. The club is also a partner in the Vero Beach Air Show.
