NEWS RELEASE

The Florida Spine Group and Christ by the Sea donated school supplies and clothing to the Homeless Family Center (HFC) during the month of August. These generous donations will enable the HFC children to start the first day of school with materials essential for the academic year and clothing that meets the schools’ dress codes.
The Florida Spine Group donated a variety of supplies including notebooks, paper, pencils, crayons and scissors. In addition to the school drive, Florida Spine sponsors a food and toy drive during the holiday season. They also give monetary donations to HFC throughout the year; they have been a dedicated supporter of HFC for the past five years.
Christ by the Sea donated school clothes, supplies, athletic equipment and a personal gift for each child. After the items were distributed, Christ by the Sea hosted a dinner for the residents. They have donated to HFC for six years and continue to be a huge supporter of HFC. Partnerships such as these enable HFC to provide their residents more than the basics which is imperative now because school budgets are tight and school districts are now asking families of schoolchildren to supply beyond the necessities with items such as hand sanitizer, copy paper and calculators.
HFC, a United Way Agency, provides opportunities for homeless families to end homelessness by achieving self-sufficiency through education, living wages and permanent housing. HFC provides the tools to empower residents by helping them to identify and resolve their problems, find better jobs, and ultimately move into homes where they can become contributing members of our community.
Individuals interested in donating, volunteering or touring HFC may call 772-567-5537 or visit www.homelessfamilycenter.com.
