HamblinKEVIN W. HAMBLIN, JR. (Little Kevin) passed away on Sunday morning August 17, 2014. Kevin loved the outdoors, was an accomplished chef and avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. He was a very passionate and loving father, son, brother, uncle. He is survived by his longtime companion Heather Mitchell and their two sons, Mitchell and Grant, mother and stepfather Michelle & Bill Romano, father and stepmother Kevin & Renne Hamblin, brothers Michael Hamblin and T.J. Sparks and Zach Cox, grandmothers Sallie Piedmont and Jane Hamblin, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews from the Hamblin and Piedmont families.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Heart Association in remembrance of Kevin. The family is planning a celebration of life event for Kevin on Oct. 25th and all friends and family are welcome to attend. This event will start at 2:00 pm with the spreading of his ashes at D.J. Wilcox Nature Area (info available at http://floridahikes.com/djwilcox) just south of Vero Beach along the Indian River Lagoon where Kevin spent much of his time fishing. LemastersJOHN N. LEMASTERS, III of Vero Beach, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the age of 81. John was born on August 3, 1933, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Helen (nee Crosby) and John N. Lemasters II. He grew up in the Ocala, Florida area where he attended high school. He went on to graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1958. During the Korean War, he served in the Army as an instructor. John’s professional career spanned over 40 years, in which he was President and CEO of Contel in Atlanta, GA, and Computer Products in Boca Raton, FL. Before that he was Vice President of Harris Corp. in Melbourne, FL, where he started the Satellite Communications Division. After retirement, he served on the board of several communication companies. He was an active member of Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church in Vero Beach where he played clarinet in the church orchestra. His hobbies included golf and piloting his airplane. In later years, he traded his airplane cockpit for his home flight simulator.

Survivors include son Craig Lemasters (Dr. Laurel) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter Lindi Lewis (Jan Lawrence) of Oakton, VA; grandchildren Will and Drew Lewis, and Steven, Kerry Anna, David and Corrie Lemasters; brother Steve Lemasters (Aloma); step-mother Shelby Lemasters; and four nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christ By The Sea Music Ministry, 3755 Highway A-1-A, Vero Beach, Florida 32963. A memorial service celebrating John’s life will begin at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church in Vero Beach. A reception will follow. ParksESTHER LOUISE PARKS, 93, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away August 19, 2014 at Consulate Health Care.She was born January 25, 1921 in Chester, WV and had been a resident of Miami, FL for 50 years prior to moving to Vero Beach 11 years ago.

Mrs. Parks is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth (Terry) Lucas of Vero Beach; son, David (Kathy) Parks of Davie, FL; brother, Feral Beebout of West Virginia; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson . She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Jerome Parks; sons, Richard Parks and Bernard Parks; sisters, Thelma Dawson and Doris Blatchford; brother, Kenneth Beebout and a grandson.

A funeral service and interment will be held 11 am, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Caballero Kendall Funeral Home and Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, 11655 S.W. 117th Avenue, Miami, FL, 33186. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach, FL. SpinksCYNTHIA LOUISE SPINKS (CINDY), 58, of Sebastian (formerly Boynton Beach), passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. Cindy fought a brave and hard battle against Leukemia.

Cindy was a loving and true friend to many. She had the most caring heart and would do without to help others in need. She most cherished her large and loving family. Cindy was born on April 28, 1956 in Binghamton, NY. Her family moved to Boca Raton from Vestal, NY when she was 11. She attended Boca High and graduated from Boca Prep School in 1974. She worked in the casual furniture business for many years. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Randell; parents Frank and Betty Lou Sanzo; daughter, Kari Dennis and friend George Johnson; Sister Beth Larson, her husband Charlie; two brothers, Frank Sanzo and wife Shari, Steven Sanzo and Michelle; grandsons, Bailey Dennis, Tylar and Charles Dennis; nieces and nephews, Charlie, Jr. (Tiffany), Lindsay (Matt), Frankie, Jr. , (Lindsay) , Tawny (James), Kirstie and Andrew; Uncle Bob Purtell and beloved cousins, Debbie Purtell, Becky Palmer, Linda Spruill and David Purtell.

Cindy’s family is grateful to God for her life on earth, her friendships, and for your kindness and prayers.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 26, at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 901 Clearmont St., Sebastian, FL with Father Dave Newhart, officiating. Tillis0001CHERYL DAWN TILLIS, 55, of Vero Beach, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at VNA Hospice House. Cheryl was born in Ft. Belvoir, VA on November 10, 1958 and liked to say she was an “Army Brat.” Her father was in the military and the family traveled extensively, finally settling in Vero Beach in 1968. Cheryl attended Citrus Elementary and was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1976. Her first job was as a waitress at the old “Fat Boys” restaurant on US1. She then went into home health care as a CNA for many years until she retired. Cheryl was an outdoor gal. She loved to camp, fish and ride horses.

She is survived by her father, Rufus and stepmother, Alice Tillis of Vero Beach; her twin brother, Michael of Gatesville, TX and several nieces and nephews. Cheryl was predeceased by her mother, Gwendolyn Lowenstein and brother, Ronald Tillis.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Crestlawn Cemetery. Lowther Funeral Home (8/22/14)
