An open letter to the citizens of Vero Beach
The members of the Vero Beach Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local 6019 felt that it was important to give the citizens of this great community a message of reassurance. Regardless of any rumors that are being bandied about, we as your police officers will continue to be here when you need us most.
We take great pride in serving you, the citizens of our community. This pride and commitment has resulted in substantially high clearance rates (the solving of crimes) indicating our commitment to you the citizens we are sworn to serve. Our commitment to professional conduct has seen continued minimal lawsuits due to high professionalism/ standards. That commitment has also been demonstrated by our willingness to assist citizens with what they need.
Over the years we have been through a lot as a community and have seen a lot of changes, but the one thing that has remained solid is your police officer’s consistently performing their jobs and protecting the public to the best of their abilities. We would like to personally thank you, the citizens of Vero Beach, for your continued support through both the good times and bad.
Sincerely yours,
The men and women of the VBPOA

Someone comes up with the idea to trim City budget until it cries “uncle!”, so, yes, we are on the alert when there is any mention of cutting or consolidating our PD. As much as I like the IRCSO, the feeling of being safe comes because of our VBPD. Knowing every alley – every neighborhood – every dead end street and unpaved canopy road……most of the ‘characters’….and having well-educated and trained men and women–that is a comfort. We believe in you and will continue to support YOU. Thank you for all you do in our community.
