NEWS RELEASE
At approximately 3:35 A.M. Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the 2900 block of 45th Street in Gifford. Deputy Robert Sunkel located a thirty-year-old black male with multiple gunshot wounds laying near a local barber shop. Deputies Sunkel and Evans performed CPR until Indian River County Fire Rescue arrived and transported the wounded male to Indian River Memorial Hospital. The man later died as a result of his gunshot wounds.

Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “We need help from the community to solve this case. Somebody knows who killed this man or was a witness to this homicide. Please contact our detectives and tell them what you know. You can remain anonymous.”
