HERBERT W. DEAN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23rd at Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. He was 96 years old. He is survived by his son, Richard, daughter-in-law Ann, grandsons Bill and Charlie, great grandson Connor and great granddaughter Elle. Mr. Dean was born in 1917 and grew up in Rochester, New York. He attended Irondequoit High School where he played varsity football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1939 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a proud World War II veteran, serving honorably as a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He had a long and distinguished career at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, retiring in 1982 as Director of Worldwide Office Operations after 43 years of continuous service. He sat on the Boards of numerous civic and business organizations including the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, The American Management Association, the Syracuse University School of Management and Delta Upsilon fraternity. He was an avid golfer and past President of Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester. He was also a 36-year resident and member of The Johns Island Club in Vero Beach, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 4th at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Avenue, Vero Beach FL, 32960. ROBERT S. ENOS – Robert was born in Somerville, MA on May, 8 1932. He spent his childhood in Medford, MA and attended the Medford school system. He lived in Billerica, MA for many years before moving to Vero Beach. Robert was a Truck Driver for the Teamsters Local 25 for many years and had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his beloved wife Helen Theresa Enos, they had just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2014. Survivors also include brothers, George and his wife Sally of Haverhill, MA, Earl Enos of West Palm Beach, FL and Lee and his wife Nancy of Medford, MA; brothers-in-law, Harold Allen of Malden, MA and Howard Allen and his wife Carroll of New Durham, NH. He also leaves behind his godmother Nancy Ruggiero of Woburn, MA; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Loretta Chambers and brother Harry Enos. Bob always enjoyed his coffee breaks with his veteran friends of Billerica, MA. DONALD B. HYER passed away on September 25, 2014, at the age of 88, after a four-year battle with cancer, at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce, Florida Don was born at Womens Hospital, in New York City. He grew up in Mount Vernon and attended area schools. Don served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Prior to his military service, he was employed at Standard Oil of New Jersey. He returned to Standard Oil, working during the day and attending New York University at night. He obtained his degree in Business Administration in 1949, and continued to work at Standard Oil in New York City, until January of 1961, whereupon he transferred to Coral Gables, Florida, to continue his career as a Benefits Specialist in the Latin American Affiliate of Esso InterAmerica. Don was introduced to boating while living in South Florida and with his family spent many happy days on Biscayne Bay and many other of the beautiful water wonderlands in South Florida. He always had a special dog in his life. His disposition was never other than sunny as his family and many friends can attest to. Don is survived by his wife, Jean; one daughter, Janice Payne (Ray) of Jasper, Georgia; and two stepdaughters, Marta Stewart of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Wende Stewart of Overland Park, Kansas. His beloved son, Greg Hyer, predeceased him in 2006. Strunk Funeral Home will take care of arrangements for cremation, and a burial will take place at a later date. Don was an active member of the Vero Beach community, including the Community Church, and the United States Power Squadron, the Yacht Club. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., in the Community Church chapel, located at 1901 23rd Street, in Vero Beach, with a reception to follow. MARY PATRICIA ROGERS, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Willowbrooke Court at Indian River Estates. Mrs. Rogers was born in Mount Vernon, NY to the late James and Anna Philson. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. She moved to Vero Beach in 1986 from Pelham, NY. Mrs. Rogers is survived by son, John M. Rogers; 5 daughters; Therese R. Elliott of Vero Beach, FL, Jeanne R. Mudge of Vero Beach, FL, Donna R. Keller of Winter Park, FL, Antoinette R. Nelson of Prescott, WI and Leigh R. Peterson of Vero Beach, FL; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her grandson Derek Paul. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 12:00 PM at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2085 Tallahassee Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960. A reception will follow at the church. Mrs. Rogers will be interred with her late husband, John, at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach. The Family request that donations be made to VNA Hospice at 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
