“That they serve with Kramer in a leadership role in the local Republican party did not keep Stump and Stradley from using a Photoshopped picture of Kramer standing next to Republican Governor Rick Scott as a way of dissuading Democrats from supporting Kramer in the non-partisan Vero Beach municipal election.”
MARK SCHUMANN
Vero Beach’s non-partisan, municipal election has turned so nasty, some of Vice Mayor Jay Kramer’s fellow Republicans, who disagree with him on the power sale, mailed a post card to registered Democrats encouraging them not to support Kramer. Why? Because, they say, Kramer is a loyal Republican.

The post card was paid for by the Committee to Change Vero Electric. According to records filed with the City Clerk’s Office, the group’s chairman is local attorney, Dan Stump. According to the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office, Stump is registered as a Republican. The group’s treasure, accountant Scott Stradley, is also a registered Republican. In fact, Stump and Stradley are both members of the Indian River County Republican Executive Committee.
That they serve with Kramer in a leadership role in the local Republican party did not keep Stump and Stradley from using a Photoshopped picture of Kramer standing next to Republican Governor Rick Scott as a way of dissuading Democrats from supporting Kramer in the non-partisan Vero Beach municipal election.
Stradley is chairman of the City’s Utilities Commission. Stump is a member of the Finance Commission. Both are members of Charlie Wilson’s new Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce.
I have wondered how low these two men and their pro-sale colleagues would go in a effort to get their way on the sale of Vero Electric. They are beginning to show their true colors.

I am stumped by the actions of Dan Stump and Scott Stradley who call themselves loyal Republicans. Oh ,I forgot Stump lost badly when Jay Kramer beat him in 2012. Stump finished behind Fletcher, Turner , Kramer and Heady. In fact Brian beat him by more than 500 votes. Stradley is nothing more than a Charlie Wilson water carrier. What ever Charlie says, he does. Ah , yes, life on a string can be both demanding and demeaning. Notice they are supporting Wilson, Turner and Howle ,so their vicious attack on a fellow Republican is a low blow even by their low standards. Could these Republicans have anything to do with the Wilson Chamber ? Stradley should resign from the Utility Commission since he is “not his own man”, but a Wilson rubber stamp. If they took the time to read today’s newspaper ,they would be aware the sale is officially dead in the water. Some of us were aware this FPL sale was finished long ago. Read em and weep.
I suppose they can’t read, it plainly says PLEASE TYPE on the form.
I guess desperate times calls for desperate measures. Who would of ever thought that a republican would vote for a republican!! I am sure every registered democrat’s thinking is more in line with these two Tea Party members.
Mr. Howle – in a postcard offering to us citizens – insists that he, with unified backing from us all – can FORCE FMPA to let us out of our contract. FORCE? What part does “force” have in our democratic-style society? It would appear we Vero citizens are being ganged up on – the County, Indian River Shores, FPL (in the shadows), and an array of other outlanders. As for Jay Kramer, he is first and foremost a loyal American citizen who has proclaimed himself a Republican – but not a blind, deaf and dumb one.
I remember when I held signs for Jay Kramer during the last election. Before doing so, I handed out flyers that I printed ( not Jay Kramer’s campaign )…they said what I will say again….”Don’t get STUMPED..vote for Kramer”…doesn’t matter what party your affiliated with, this is a non-partisan race…or do they know the meaning of those two words? I guess for Turner, Howle, and Wilson to win…nasty is the only way these FPL goons know….Keep your money FPL….save it for the new sales agreement.
Been a couple of weeks since I’ve seen idiots this blatant.
Thanks!
Mailing out anything to Democrats is a waste of time, money and effort. The Indian River Democrat Party is so dysfunctional that they worked agressively in support of a candidate that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement concluded had violated multiple laws. Then to compound their mistake they have done everything possible to sabotage the campaign of the Democrat nominee, Gabriel Rothblatt.
Anyone who wants to learn about the small cabal who have failed to respect Democrat Party values can make a public records request to Gerald Baily, Commissioner, Florida Department of Elections. In doing so, a voter can learn about some of the unethical and illegal actions of Corry Westbrook. who attempted to get the Democrat nomination to challenge our incumbent Bill Posey.
Non-Partisan City Council race Pat……
