City receives painting of Veterans Memorial Island

At Tuesday's City Council meeting, the Veteran's Council representative Col. Tony Young, retired, presented a painting by local artist, Lee Smith.  Smith titled her work, "Veteran's Memorial Island: Cenotaphs at Sunrise." According to City Clerk Tammy Vock, Smith's painting will be displaced in the Council chambers.

    Thanks for posting this! The Veterans Council is pleased to share this painting with the City of Vero Beach. Lee did a fantastic job capturing the key features of the Island with Florida color! The cenotaphs and our national colors speak of sacrifice and pride to be American. We appreciate the support of so many that care so much of our veterans.

    We will host the Veterans Day ceremony on Tuuesday November 11th at 9:00 AM on Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary. All are invited!
