Vero Beach City Council candidates Harry Howle, III and Pilar Turner have yet to report as an in-kind contribution the cost of a fundraiser reception held for them Oct. 2 at the Quail Valley River Club. According to an email invitation sent by Toby and Tuny Hill, the fundraiser for Howle and Turner was also co-chaired by Denise and Joe Corr, Claire and Harry Howle, Jr., Karen and Chuck Mechling, Lee and John Moore and Karen and Mark Morein.
“If you cannot attend and want to support these two fine candidates, please make your check payable to: Pilar Turner Campaign Account, Campaign Account for Harry Howle. You can mail your checks to Toby Hill…,” the invitation read.
According to Florida election law, (Florida Statutes Section 106.055), the cost to the host or hosts for holding an event in support of a candidate should be reported as an in-kind contribution.
