
Unable to resolve their differences over electric rates and services, the Indian River Shores Town Council and the Vero Beach City Council came to impasse today. The two governing bodies have met several time over the past two months in an effort to avoid mediation and possible litigation. As required by state law, the City and the Shores will submit their dispute before a mediator. Failing successful mediation, the Shores Town Council has made clear its intention to take its case to court.
Vero Beach Mayor Richard Winger read the following prepared statement at the beginning of the conflict assessment meeting held this morning at the Richard Center on the Indian River State College Muller Campus.
