NEWS RELEASE
The Veterans Council of Indian River County is reaching out to Indian River County Veterans of Iraq, from Afghanistan to current day military service. We are starting an informal Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans group to share experiences, have a few laughs, and discuss current issues veterans face in Indian River County. We plan to meet semi-regularly. If you served in the Armed Forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm or any other relevant Operation during the Global War on Terror, we are looking for you.
Our first hangout will be 2:00pm Sunday, November 9 at BrewGrrs at Miracle Mile in Vero (390 21st St, Vero Beach, FL 32960). Let’s spread the word! We want to support dedicated men and women who have served our country. And we want to share information on Indian River County resources available to help veterans.
Our Veterans Council mission is to support all Indian River County veterans through the collective effort of veteran’s organizations, civic associations and the local community, thereby raising awareness of veterans’ needs and of their contributions to society. For additional information, please call Doy Demsick on 734-718-7402.

There is a unit to the south of the county that has some veterans that reside in Indian River County that just came back one year ago. That unit is the 806th Mp company.
