In 2013 Osceola Park was the first neighborhood in Vero Beach to be designated as a National Register District. The State of Florida recognized the district as a Florida Heritage Site in 2014. On Saturday, December 6th residents and officials will gather at 10:00am at 1905 20th Avenue to dedicate the Florida Heritage Marker.
The public is invited to watch the unveiling, listen to a short history about Osceola Park and celebrate with neighborhood residents. A walking tour of the district with historian and neighborhood resident Anna J. Brady will be available following the celebration. The cost of the marker was underwritten by the Indian River County Historical Society with Tourist Development Council grant funds. The Society and the TDC, along with the City of Vero Beach, the State of Florida Division of Historic Resources. Many of the residents of the Osceola Park Area neighborhoods worked together to make the official recognition a reality.
