New artist joins MSVB Gallery

NEWS RELEASE

Barber JewelryMain Street Vero Beach Studios and Gallery now features a new resident artist, Christina Barber.  Barber will feature her photography and jewelry where photographer Toni Hill offered her work.  Hill is moving to Island Images with J. Scott Kelly.

Barber Photography 1Christina joins Sherry Wilson, Barbara Sharp and Lisa Lugo as permanent artists in residence at the gallery.. She says…. Photography has always been in my life. I love colors, lighting and patterns along with having a natural affinity for animals and the outdoors. I have travelled and lived east coast to west coast and back again. I was born in Georgia, am the oldest of five and have always been a tomboy of sorts. After Georgia State University, I graduated from Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia and interned at Turner Broadcasting in 2005. I have been photographing ever since. I could say I have been shooting “professionally” ever since, but it is hard to call what I enjoy doing every day “work”. My photos are my journal, they are my passion.

Barber Photography 2My mom is the one who inspired me to make jewelry. She owns a business in Atlanta, Georgia and I have worked with her for years. Through my travels, I have collected many beautiful authentic sea glass pieces and the two just came together naturally. I am constantly wanting to learn more about designing unique, quality pieces.

I live in Florida now, where I have a huge playground in the state to play in, to live in and to create in.

Stop by and see Christina and all the artists at the First Friday Gallery Stroll Jan. 2nd from 5-8pm or Tuesday thur Friday 10-4pm and Saturday 11-2.
