Exhibition to feature more than 40 collectors’ favorites

February 14, 2015 will be a day for lovers – car lovers that is – at McKee Botanical Garden as the Garden hosts its Sixth Annual Motor Car Exhibition from 10 am to 3 pm.

Car Collectors’ Favorites will be the theme of this year’s exhibition, featuring vehicles from as far north as Jacksonville to the Palm Beaches. The collection of automobiles will span more than 100 years, from a 1913 Case to a 2014 McLaren P1. The juried show will feature forty vehicles in total, each one chosen from owners’ private collections and displayed throughout the Garden. Included will be antique as well as exotic models, with several rare and even one-of-a-kinds on view. Among them will be a 1913 Knox and a Maserati MC12, one of just 50 of its kind built between 2004 and 2005.

“McKee’s 2015 motor car exhibition is an opportunity to see vehicles that are simply not commonly seen,” stated McKee Botanical Garden Executive Director Christine Hobart. “Much like the Garden itself, one would have to travel quite a distance to see such a large variety of rare and unique models assembled into one collection as they are for the Sixth Annual Motor Car Exhibition here at McKee.”

In addition to viewing the spectacular display of collectors’ cars, visitors also will get to see Nature Connects, A LEGO® Brick Exhibition. Nature Connects features 14 large-scale sculpture installations created entirely from LEGO bricks by artist Sean Kenney. The exhibit, which represents nature’s important connection to all living things is on view at McKee through April 12.

McKee Botanical Garden is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture and enhance a historic garden in a unique tropical setting for the education, enjoyment and enrichment of all. McKee Botanical Garden is located at 350 US Highway 1 in Vero Beach. General admission rates are $12 adults, $11 seniors and $8 children ages 3 to 12. Admission is free for members and children under 3. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The Garden is closed Mondays.
