With all the speculation and reporting about the 2016 presidential elections, it can’t be premature to raise questions about who will run for two Vero Beach City Council seats up for grabs next fall. The 2015 City Council election could prove pivotal, for if Mayor Richard Winger and Councilwoman Amelia Graves do not run for re-election, or if they are defeated by two candidates funded with Florida Power & Light shadow money, a new troika led by Pilar Turner will emerge.
Beyond unilaterally signing away Vero Electric’s territorial rights and agreeing to new terms with FPL that could bankrupt the City, Turner and two more Tea Party darlings could also be expected to sell Vero Beach’s profitable water and sewer utility to the County, and for only a fraction of its real value. They could also be expected to outsource solid waste management; and they would almost surely make a move to privatize the municipal marina.

That’s pretty sad… Couldn’t pass up the chance to climb a stool and take a swing at Sarah Palin?
Also, Where’s the big front page link to NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams fabricating a story? I guess it’s not big news unless it’s FOX News… Get a life.
Why were so many out of town builders so happy to donate to Howle’s campaign ? He could become a pawn of these builders. We must watch his money sources carefully.
Makes me wonder why anyone living in the City of Vero Beach would risk destroying the place they call home. When I read about County Commissioners not joining in with other counties to return the lagoon to flora and fauna sea life health because they think the rest have a “hidden agenda”, I wonder what THEIR agenda is. When I see that a City Council person is hanging out with these County Commissioners in Tallahassee, I wonder why that person isn’t supporting Vero Beach. As far as Mr. Howle is concerned, remembering his rather blatant disregard for running a “nonpartisan” campaign, I’m amazed he would want to put himself through another campaign. This time, many of us will be prepared to make plenty of noise. And hopefully those who fly away during the summer months should know that is when ‘stuff’ happens. Stay in touch!
