Last week, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) Unit conducted search warrants on Wednesday and Friday that resulted in the seizure of two handguns, a 2008 Dodge Charger, Oxycodone, and more. On Wednesday, the M.A.C.E. Unit concluded a narcotics operation by arresting Joseph Troutman in the 1500 block of US 1.

Detectives held active warrants on Troutman for two counts of sale of a controlled substance. Troutman was taken into custody without incident and transported back to his residence in the 200 block of 15th Lane SW, where M.A.C.E. detectives executed a search warrant.

As a result of the investigation, detectives located and seized a 2008 Dodge Charger used for narcotics sales and deliveries, $1,056.00 in drug money, a loaded 9mm handgun, twenty-five (25) Oxycodone pills, eight (8) hydromorphone pills, three (3) grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Troutman was charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone), possession of a controlled substance (hydromorphone), possession of less than twenty grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Troutman was booked into the Indian River County jail, where he eventually posted $25,500.00 in bond money.

On Friday, M.A.C.E. along with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) Team executed a search warrant in the 3800 block of 44th Place, concluding a month long investigation into narcotics activities in that area. Detectives recovered a loaded firearm under a mattress that had been reported stolen in Indian River County. M.A.C.E. Detective Gregory Stanley stated, “During our investigation, we purchased narcotics on several occasions from this residence. Arrests are expected in the near future.” This week, detectives continue to follow up on leads on both of these cases.
