ELEANOR LOUISE KENNEDY, 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Indian River Medical Center February 15, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Robert, and daughters Sally, Amy, Susan, and Rebecca, and their spouses, and her grandchildren, Caitlin and Jeffrey. She was a registered nurse and attended Fairmont State College and West Virginia University. She supervised the pediatric ward at Fairmont General Hospital. After raising her family in Western Pennsylvania she was the health coordinator for Project Head Start of Westmoreland County PA. She was an active member of the Democratic Women’s Club, Parkinson’s Association, and member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach. Among her many adventures, her most cherished time was spent was living on a sailboat with her husband. They were first mates and only mates for life. A memorial service will be held on April 10, 2015 at 2PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach. Donations can be made for Parkinson’s research by donating to the Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of Indian River County.  (2/19/15)

HOWARD C. MASSEY of Vero Beach passed from this life into eternal life on February 16, 2015. Born near Thomasville, Georgia October 21, 1925, Mr. Massey served two and a half years with the United States Navy during World War II. He moved to the greater Miami area in 1949. Mr. Massey operated his own plumbing business in Metropolitan Dade County for some 15 years. He then worked as a plumbing plans examiner and assistant plumbing chief for Metropolitan Dade County Florida for 14 years. He retired in 1985 to devote full-time to writing. Mr. Massey is the author of six technical plumbing books, one non-fiction book and two novels. His technical books are used in vocational schools nationally. “Plumbers Handbook” and “Basic Plumbing with Illustrations” and “International Plumbing and Fuel Gas Codes” are perhaps the most used of the six. His novels include “Through the Eyes of Jesus” and “Deep Woods”. The non-fiction work is “America’s Ragged Edge”. Mr. Massey is a member of First Church of God, the Gideons International, Authors Guild, and is included in the 59th and 61st editions of “Who’s Who in America”.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Hilda Massey; a daughter, Sondra Massey Siegel, and her husband Paul, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a son, Richard C. Massey of Vero Beach, FL; grandson, Richard H. Massey of Hollywood, FL; one sister, Shirley Gandy of Thomasville, Georgia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1pm at First Church of God, 1105 58th Ave, Vero Beach, Florida, with Pastor Greg Sempsrott officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gideons International Memorial Bible Fund, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
