NEWS RELEASE

A meeting of several Indian River County Public Safety employee organizations came together Monday evening, February 24, 2015, to exchange information which will keep their teams informed and educated about each other’s roles in the community.  A new organization was formed which will be designated the Indian River County Public Safety Council and originated from an idea by Vero Beach Police Officers Association President Brad Kmetz.

It is the hope of the new council that they might be able to exchange information between all public safety service employees to help improve efficiency within their associations for the public’s protection and education as well as to share relevant information which will assist them in the implementation of their duties.

The IRCPSC will serve to support each other within the Council membership as well as offer support to the families of those who serve. The new group is still developing the range of topics they will cover and is currently gathering information to pinpoint specific areas in which they will work to best assist the community and each other.  This is the first time such an encompassing group of public safety organizations have all come together to work for such a cooperative cause to support each other’s efforts as they also look out for the residents of Indian River County and all who visit this area.
