The Miss Hibiscus Pageant Committee is looking for girls 15-19 who are Indian River County residents. The Miss Hibiscus Pageant is a featured event at Main Street Vero Beach’s Hibiscus Festival.  The crowning of Miss Hibiscus will take place on Thursday April 16th at the Heritage Center in historic Downtown Vero Beach.

Contestants can sign up between now and the entry deadline of April 3rd. Pageant applications are available online at www.mainstreetverobeach.org on The Hibiscus Festival tab.  Contestants are judged on poise and confidence in an interview process.  The young women are awarded points for public speaking and their involvement in activities and community service. Young women who have already entered the pageant are getting involved in promoting the pageant on the radio and in community service projects.

The winner of the Miss Hibiscus Pageant receives $500 and prizes donated by local businesses.  Second place winner will earn $300 plus prizes and third place wins $200 plus prizes.   The honors of “Miss Congeniality” and “Most Photogenic” are also the night of the pageant. The tiara for Miss Hibiscus is courtesy of John Michael Matthews Fine Jewelry.  “Most Photogenic” wins a photography shoot by Island Images Professional Photography.

The 2015 Hibiscus Festival is the twelfth annual event presented by Main Street Vero Beach.  Profits from The Hibiscus Festival are invested in downtown beautification and economic restructuring projects.  For more information on entering or sponsoring the Miss Hibiscus Pageant visit www.mainstreetverobeach.org or contact Cindy Goetz at cindygoetz@cgmakeupartist.com.
