
Sailors from The Columbus Foundation of the British Virgin Islands, will be sailing historically accurate replicas of Columbus’ ships, the Nina and Pinta, to the Vero Beach Marina today. The ships are expected to arrive in Vero Beach at 2 pm., sailing from Marco Island.
The life-size replicas of two of the three sailing ships Columbus and his team of explorers used to discover the New World, will be docked in Vero Beach through March 11. Tours are available from 9 a.m., to 6 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (60+) and $6 ages 5-16.
The replica of the Nina was launched in 1991. In 2005, the Columbus Foundations’ replica the Pinta set said in 2005. The Columbus Foundation’s 2015 tour began Feb. 5 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and will conclude June 14th in Oswego, New York.
