MARK SCHUMANN

Indian River Shores voters yesterday returned incumbents Michael Ochsner and Richard Haverland to the Shores Town Council. Oschner, who was appointed last month to replace retiring council member and former mayor Tom Cadden, and Haverland defeated challenger Linda Bolton.
With 20 percent of the Town’s registered voters casting ballots, Haverland received 664 votes and Oschner 314. Holton received 213 votes.
Oschner and Haverland will begin serving their four-year terms March 26.
Late last month, Haverland and Ochsner urged their fellow Council members to move forward with the Town’s lawsuit against Vero Beach. In the end, the Council voted 3-2 to keep the lawsuit in abeyance through May 15.
