Those who might find it hard to believe Indian River County Commissioner Bob Solari could stoop so low as to liken Vero Beach Vice Mayor Jay Kramer to a “apologist for ISIS terrorists,” need only listen to the audio of Solari on the Steve Meyer radio program. Blogger Bea Gardner posted the audio yesterday on Bea-Isms.com.

Either to position himself for a run against Kramer for the Florida House, or to help Kramer’s opponents, Solari accuses the Vero Beach Vice Mayor and Republican State Committeeman of being “a Republican in name only.” Solari went on to insist there is no longer room in the Republican party for “progressives.”

Ironically, during the most recent Vero Beach City Council election, Scott Stradley, Dan Stump and Gerry Weick, all members at the time of the Indian River County Republican Executive Committee, participated in sending out mailers to local Democrats attacking Kramer for his loyalty to the Republican Party. Indian River County politics has, indeed, become stranger than fiction.
