For almost six years, a group of Vero Beach dog lovers, has been advocating for an off-leash, fenced dog park with separate enclosures for small and large dogs. Together with a very dedicated group of volunteers, the dream for their nonprofit organization, the Vero Beach Dog Park, came true, and the grand opening was held this past November.

The Dog Park is free to the public and is open 365 days a year, dawn to dusk. Dog owners as well as non are welcome. The dog park is located on Indian River Drive East just north of the stoplight intersection at the foot of the Merrill Barber Bridge.

The Vero Beach Dog Park is off and running with amazing success since its grand opening in November 2014. James Welles, president ot the board of directors advises that in order to keep it that way , the first annual Spring Fundraising Drive is now underway. Welles noted, “We are 100% reliant on the support of our community to provide a clean, safe environment for our 4-legged friends.” The VBDP is registered as a Federal 501(c)3 charitable organization and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Leah Muller, board member and chair of the spring event, is pleased to announce that the Spring Drive will be kicked off with a reception hosted by Costa d’Este Beach Resort and Spa on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 5:00-7:00p. The first 30 donations of $1,000 or more will receive an invitation for two to attend an exclusive reception at the resort. For more information, e-mail- info@verobeachdogpark.org
