An 82-year-old Indian River County man reported missing Wednesday afternoon was found early Thursday morning in Jupiter. Jupiter Police found John Gallagher, who has dementia and diabetes, at 1:15 a.m. while making a routine traffic stop.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is searching for John Gallagher (82) of Vero Beach. Mr. Gallagher purchased a car from the Honda dealership in the 600 block of US 1 at 4:00 P.M. today. He was last seen turning west on 8th Street in a maroon 2008 Honda Civic bearing Florida tag DZAK82.
According to relatives, Gallagher suffers from diabetes and is in the beginning stages of dementia. He was last seen wearing an orange baseball hat with the word Nantucket on it, a green polo shirt, tan shorts, and brown shoes. Mr. Gallagher is 5’10” tall, 180 lbs., bald with blue eyes and wears glasses.
Gallagher recently moved to Vero Beach from Pittsburgh and does not know the area very well. Detectives and deputies are currently searching for Mr. Gallagher throughout the county.
