The 2015 Laurel Award honorees are: Maestro Stewart Robertson, Atlantic Classical Orchestra, will receive the Richard A. Stark Award for Cultural Leadership; Anita Astrachan, Volunteer for Riverside Theatre, will receive the Alma Lee Loy Award for Volunteer Leadership; Bridget Lyons, Indian River Academy, will receive the Willie C. Reagan Award for Educational Arts Leadership; and White Glove Moving, Storage & Delivery, Pak Mail Beachside, President Phil DeLange, will receive the John J. Schumann, Jr. Award for Business Leadership. The Laurel Awards will be presented to the honorees at the Nineteenth Laurel Awards Celebration on Friday, April 24th at the Riomar Country Club. The Vero Beach Choral Society will present its Spring Concert, Celebrating a Choral Legacy on April 24th at 7:30 pm and 26th at 3:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Avenue in Vero Beach. For this 30th-Anniversary concert, the VBCS will be joined by the choir of the Indian River Charter High School, Organist Ms. Judith Taylor and the Portside Brass Ensemble will also participate. The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce presents Shark Bait performing 1980s and Classic Rock in Riverview Park on Friday, April 24th from 5:30-8:00 pm. There will be food and refreshments for sale. Free admission.

The Vero Beach Museum of Art presents the 34th Annual Children’s Art Festival on Saturday, April 25th from 10 am to 3 pm. This event includes: live student performances and exhibitions; studio art projects for kids of all ages; interactive presentations and free admission to all exhibitions. The Indian River County Student Art Exhibit opens and awards will be presented from 12:30 pm to 2 pm by Florida’s 2015 Teacher of the Year, Christie Bassett (at left). Congressional Art Awards with Congressman Bill Posey will be from 10:00 am to noon. Admission is free.

The Arc of Indian River County is holding its 10th Annual Spring Swing Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 25th at Sandridge Golf Club Get a foursome together for a beautiful day on the links followed by a deli luncheon and an awards ceremony as well as raffles and door prizes. The Pelican Island Audubon Society is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and new Audubon House located at 195 9th Street SE (Oslo Road) in Vero Beach on Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 am to 3 pm. Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre, located within the Quilted Giraffe Restaurant at 500 South US 1 in Vero Beach, concludes its 2014 – 2015 season with “Broadway Blockbusters” on Sunday, April 26th. The Community Church Concert Series presents Rochelle Sallee and Ryan Kasten, pianists on Sunday, April 26 at 4 pm. The recital is a dedication concert of the new 7’4” Bösendorfer Concert Grand Piano recently donated to the church. Join Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky to travel to Miami to view the glass artworks of Dale Chihuly at Fairchild Gardens on Thursday, April 29th. The Arc of Indian River County invites Mothers and Grandmothers to its third annual Tea: Paris Tea Party, a fashion event featuring tea and goodies, an art show by Indian River Charter High School, music by Vero Beach High School Philharmonic String Quartet and paintings by special artist, Katie Henderson.
