The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Bobby Owen Band at its Concert in the Park on Friday, May 29th from 5:30 to 8 pm. Riverside Theatre presents comedians Chris Killian and Dusty Slay on Friday and Saturday, May 29th & 30th with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm. Every Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm, the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society hosts a Jazz Market featuring creative arts & crafts in Historic Downtown Fort Pierce on the waterfront of the Indian River. Original hand made crafts, stained glass, Highwaymen paintings, hand-painted glassware and much, more are available for purchase. Funds raised support education programs and local scholarships.
The Sunrise Theatre brings Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre’s “Broadway Blockbusters” to the Black Box. This musical tribute to the Great White Way will be performed on Saturday, May 30th, with doors opening for dinner at 5:30 p.m. Shows represented in this production include “The Act,” “Dreamgirls,” “Chess,” “Seesaw,” “The Scarlet Pimpernel,” “The Boy from Oz” and “Grand Hotel” to name a few, and will feature such blockbusters as One Night in Bangkok, Nobody Does It Like Me, I Am Changing, Don’t Cry Out Loud and Love Changes Everything. The 2015 Vero Beach Art Club’s Art Trail, which will be held December 12, 2015, is looking for artists who would like to participate. The application deadline is June 30th. The Art Trail tour has become a sold out success and the Club is seeking ten great artists who would like to be a part of the 2015 event. Artists will have an opportunity to speak with visitors about their artistic process and also sell their artwork. Artists do not have to be a member of the club but must live in the Vero Beach area and allow guests inside their subdivision. Trinity Episcopal Church is seeking artists to design and paint a mural in the chapel. They are now accepting proposals and sketches. Trinity Church is looking for artists to provide sketches and bids for an interior paint design project for their chapel. The project entails a large Gothic or Rounded arch-design to be painted to frame an existing large stained glass window and extend to the floor, perhaps 15 feet in total height. You failed to mention the Downtown Friday event – The street party held in Downtown Vero Beach on the last Friday of most every month. It is a great community event and it is free. There are always a handful of politicians glad handing the crowd. I think it goes from 6-8:30.
