New Summer Camps

This Weekend-Studio MCreate at Studio MA, has added 2 hour etiquette classes for ages 6-8 and 9-12 and five day per week summer camps for ages 6-12. Topics will include The Art of the Table, Navigating the Place Setting, Charming Correspondence, Polished Presence for Girls, and Mighty Manners as well as a variety of art classes. The Pelican Island Audubon Society is offering summer camps on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm through August 10th. North County camps are held at Riverview Park in Sebastian and South County camps are held at the Audubon House on Oslo Road in Vero Beach. Activities and Skills include: Kayaking, Stand Up Paddling, Orienteering, First Aid, Wildlife Identification, Water Safety, Outdoor Cooking and more. Space is limited to 10 children per location. Riverside Theatre’s Distinguished Lecturer Series announces its 2016 season: January 25, 2016: Eric J. Topol, M.D.
, Director, Scripps Translational Science Institute; February 8, 2016: Ken Burns, Historian and Award-Winning Filmmaker; February 22, 2016: Bret Stephens, Deputy Editor of the Wall Street Journal Editorial Page; and March 14, 2016: Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State (2005-2009). Lecture times are 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.. Cost for the season is $350 for the Stark Mainstage and $200 for the Waxlax simulcast. WATERLILYOn June 20th, McKee Botanical Garden will host its 11th Annual Waterlily Celebration from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. McKee’s waterlily collection is the largest in Florida, comprised of nearly 350 individual plants and 100 varieties. Arrive early to view night blooming specimens before they retreat. Visitors will enjoy demonstrations at 9:00 am and 10:15 am, and plant experts will be on site throughout the morning to answer questions. Submissions for the Garden’s annual Waterlily Photo Contest will be on display in the Hall of Giants, and from 8:30 am until noon, visitors may cast their vote for their “People’s Choice” favorite. Bring Dad to McKee on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21st, when McKee Botanical Garden will offer free admission to all fathers with any paid Garden admission from noon to 5 pm.

Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky continues this summer on Tuesday, June 23rd with a trip to the Space Coast Exploration Tower. Get a bird’s eye view of Port Canaveral and the surrounding area from the Observation Deck and stroll seven floors of unique exhibits and displays showcasing the Space Coast.
