DAY TRIPPIN’ ANNOUNCES COOL MUSEUM TRILOGY
Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky announces its Cool Museum Trilogy this summer. The first trip, scheduled for Thursday, July 16th visits the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg for the Dali & Da Vinci – Where Minds, Machines and Masterpieces Meet exhibit. Following the morning tour, the group will enjoy lunch at the Hangar Restaurant and Flight Lounge before heading to the Florida Orange Grove Winery for a tour and tasting. The cost is $90 per person that includes bus transportation, museum admission and winery tour & tasting. Lunch is on your own. The bus will depart from the IHOP Restaurant in Vero Beach at 7:30 am and return at approximately 8:00 pm. Future museum tours are scheduled for August 12th to Orlando for Mummies of the World at the Orlando Science Center (Cost is $80 pp) and on September 30th at the Elliott Museum in Stuart to see Illuminating the Deep: Glimpsing the Largest and Least Known Ecosystem on Earth (Cost is $75 pp). The Vero Beach International Music Festival continues this week at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard in Vero Beach, with performances on Wednesday, July 8th and Friday, July 10th beginning at 7:30 pm. These concerts feature faculty and advanced students of the Mike Block String Camp with performances of bluegrass, jazz and more. Riverside Theatre’s Comedy Zone features comedians Shaun Jones and Tim “The Dairy Farmer” with shows at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, July 10th and 11th. In addition, free outdoor concerts are held at Live In The Loop with Soul Jam (Blues Rock) on Friday and Live Pan Steel Drum (Island Rock) on Saturday beginning at 6:30 pm. MEDITATION CLASSES AT CSC

The Center for Spiritual Care, 1550 24th Street in Vero Beach, offers two opportunities to learn techniques of meditation this week. SCSO WEST SIDE STORY

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will perform a two part concert, West Side Story, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 12th at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street. West Side Story includes the work of fiery composers Leonard Bernstein, Michael Daugherty and Kenneth Fuchs. The concert will open with the Letters from Lincoln, by Michael Daugherty. Central Florida baritone, Michael John Foster joins the Space Coast Symphony to present the historically-inspired work, with texts taken entirely from Lincoln’s own words and writings. The second half of the concert features Kenneth Fuchs’ An American Place. Fuchs, who will be on hand for the summer concert, wrote An American Place to express the “brash optimism of the American spirit.” Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story completes the performance. $20 advance tickets are available at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org Tickets at the door are $25.
