A new display of paintings by Ann Emery has opened a the Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue in Vero Beach. Ann Emery’s exhibit is aptly named “Potpourri” featuring a variety of subject matter including local landscapes and scenery from the American west as well as abstractions and still life. Viewing hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

On view at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, 3001 Riverside Park Drive, is FROM PAINTING TO VIDEO: Highlights from the Permanent Collection featuring approximately 40 art pieces in various media through January 20th. The Museum’s collection focuses on art of the twentieth century plus American and international art of the twenty-first century. Various artists and their signature works are featured in the exhibition, including Alex Katz, César Martínez, Sharon Quasius, Jennifer Steinkamp, Luis Montoya and Leslie Ortiz. Summer Museum admission fees apply: $6 Adults, $5 Seniors (65+); Students with ID, Youth 17 and under, Museum members, and active military with ID and their families receive free admission.

The Emerson Center’s Foyer Gallery of Art, on the southeast corner of the intersection at 27th Avenue and 16th Street, is presenting a Group Art Show featuring Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach members and associates. Exhibiting artists are Ellen Deschartres, Richard Fisher, E. Marie Francis, Millie Michos, George Michos, Carl Rantz, Ada Swenson, Tobias VanBuren, Marion Vrusho and Debra West. Included in this diverse exhibit are works in oils, pastels, acrylics, collages, landscapes, portraits, drawings, and digital art. The show will run through August 31st at the Emerson. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to noon.

BROADWAY to HOLLYWOOD to BROADWAY AT VBTG

weekend_163021The Vero Beach Theatre Guild presents its big summer musical, BROADWAY to HOLLYWOOD to BROADWAY, with four performances, Thursday through Sunday, July 16th through 19th. This show, directed by Mark Wygonik, delivers songs that have gone from Broadway musicals to the Silver Screen, such as “I Get a Kick Out of You” from Anything Goes, “Let the Sunshine In” from Hair, and “Money, Money, Money” from Mama Mia and unforgettable numbers from movies that found their way to the stages of Broadway: “If You’ve Got It, Flaunt It” from The Producers, “Chim Chim Cheree” from Mary Poppins, and “Puttin’ On the Ritz” from Young Frankenstein. At the Emerson Center Foyer Gallery, a “Meet the Artist” reception will be on Friday, July 17th, from 3:30PM-6 and refreshments will be served. At 6 pm, following the reception, all are invited to attend a Pot Luck Supper and a film which will be held in our Fellowship Hall from 6PM-8. RCT’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL ON RIVERSIDE’S STARK STAGE

weekend_1000120Riverside Childrens Theatre presents Disney’s High School Musical with performances July 17th through 19th with 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm performances. This production is a concert version of this popular film featuring teen students of the Theatre. Tickets are $12 adults, $6 children and are available online at RiversideTheatre.com.
