The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department will present ‘Totally 80’s Circus’” the 41st Annual Aerial Antics Youth Circus on August 6th, 7th, and 8th at 7 pm at Saint Edwards School. This years’ 80’s theme will combine gymnastics, dance and aerial routines with popular and fun 80’s music. Tickets are $7 for adults & $6 for children under 12 and seniors.

Friday & Saturday August 7 and 8

Riverside Theatre presents comedians Julie Scoggins and Jeff Zenisek on Friday & Saturday, August 7th & 8th with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm. Comedy Zone tickets ($16 general admission or $18 reserved seating) includes access to Riverside’s Vegas Style Casino in the Lobby on both Friday and Saturday Nights from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Casino entertainment features Dale Rieth, pianist. weekend - Taylor Loughlin-Risingweekend - JudyMercerThe First Friday Gallery Stroll in Vero’s Art District will be held on Friday, August 7th from 5 to 8 pm with opening receptions for new exhibits at the galleries and businesses. The Artists Guild Gallery presents a members only Exhibition, “Dog Days of Summer.” Main Street Studios presents paintings by Taylor Loughlin whose current work focuses on figures and their relationship to water. The Center for Spiritual Care, 1550 24th Street, presents a photography exhibition titled “Seeking the Light” by Aric Attasfrom 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Saturday, August 8

St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church will present its second Italian Cabaret Supper night with the vocal talent and enthusiasm of Ms. Julie Lenden Stone (Ms. Senior FL 2015) on Saturday, August 8th at 6 pm. weekend - The-Art-of-the-Big-Band-copThe Space Coast Symphony Jazz Orchestra will turn up the heat this summer with The Art of the Big Band, on Sunday, August 9th at 3 pm at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street. This performance will highlight the artistry of some of the greatest arrangers and composers of our time. Musicians such as Sammy Nestico, Billy May, and Ernie Wilkins are among those who have made significant contributions to the evolution of the art of the big band. With music from Goodman (as in Benny) to Goodwin (as in Gordon), this concert promises to be hot from start to finish. weekend - BalletBallet Vero Beach’s 2015-2016 season begins at Riverside Theatre on Sunday, August 9th with performances at 2 pm and 7 pm. Ballet Vero Beach, in partnership with Riverside Theatre, presents Chicago Repertory Ballet in the company’s first ever tour! The company’s appearance in Vero will mark the culmination of the fourth annual Riverside Dance Festival. weekend - Welcome to the '60s PhotoTheatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre presents “Welcome to the ’60s” that will have the audience swinging through a decade of hits in Greenwich Village on Sunday, August 9th and 23rd at the Quilted Giraffe in Vero Beach. Dig out your tie-dyes, miniskirts and dancing shoes to celebrate such psychedelic wonders as Aquarius, House of the Rising Sun, Crystal Blue Persuasion, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Respect and Proud Mary. Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky will travel to Orlando on Wednesday, August 12th to view a special summer exhibit, “Mummies of the World” at the Orlando Science Center.
