Riverside Theatre presents comedians Frankie Paul and John Charles on Friday & Saturday, August 21st & 22nd with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm. The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County will be holding a “No Flea Market” sale from Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23 at its Adoption and Education Center located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. The sale will run daily from 10 am to 4 pm. This fun-filled three-day event will feature hundreds of brand new, pet-themed items including jewelry, clocks, figurines, Christmas ornaments, mugs and much more. weekend - 15-0722 BTS PartyRiverside Children’s Theatre in partnership with the Education Foundation of Indian River County will present the FREE, fun-filled family event, RT Star’s Back To School Party, on Saturday, August 22nd from 10 am to 2 pm at Riverside Theatre.  With hands-on activities, live performances, face painting, a bounce house, and entertaining contests, this community-wide event will also feature back to school information from Administrators and Directors from the School District of Indian River County.

There will be representatives from the Food Services Department, Student Services Department and the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program. People from these informative programs, along with After School Programming and the Transportation Department, will be available for consultation. Plus, the Tobacco Free Partnership of Indian River County will be bringing their SWAT team (Students Working Against Tobacco) to the event with information and interactive games. Along with live performances from students of Riverside Children’s Theatre and professional entertainment from performers of the Children’s Theatre Touring Program, the day will include interactive contests on building a lunch box, getting dressed for school, and our take on the popular television game show, “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?”  For more information, call 772-231-6990 or online at www.riversidetheatre.com.

Doh! The kids get in free when Homer Simpson and Bart join Shrek, Donkey and a host of other characters by DreamWorks Animation for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra’s Animation Domination at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 23rd at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street.   The concert will celebrate some of the most exciting animation film scores during a rousing afternoon with film highlights on the giant screen.  In addition to The Simpsons and Shrek, the young and young at heart can experience film clips and live music to Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon, Chicken Run, Rise of the Guardians and The Croods.  Youngsters may take to the stage to assist Conductor Aaron Collins during the interactive program.  The Space Coast Symphony Chorus will join the orchestra to lend vocal color in a performance that includes kazoos and assorted vocal calisthenics.  Animation Domination is free for those aged 18 and under or with a student ID.  $20 advance tickets are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments.  Tickets at the door are $25.  Call toll free to 855-252-7276 for more information.
