Weekend - LOSMain Street Vero Beach presents Downtown Friday on September 25th from 6 to 9 pm on 14th Avenue. Enjoy a variety of vendors and community booths, food and drink and live music by the Ladies of Soul. The Vero Cycling Club will hold a 6 mile bicycle ride ending on 14th Ave at Downtown Friday. Saturday, Sept 26

Weekend - NathanSawaya-Web ImageVisit the Vero Beach Museum of Art on “Free Admission Saturday,” September 26th, for a variety of activities. The Art of the Brick®, an exhibition featuring more than thirty large-scale sculptures created out of LEGO® bricks by New York-based artist Nathan Sawaya opens to the public. Tour the James Patten Community Gallery to see an exhibit of the Vero Beach Art Club members’ works. Arrive early for the Autumnal Yoga Celebration (9 am – 11:30 am for $20). Drop in for a special Kidz ArtShop between 10 am and 1 pm and meet the instructors from the Museum Art School presenting demonstrations from 1 to 4 pm. Weekend - Vince and the Soul Catsm pictureSebastian Inlet State Park will hold its Night Sounds Concert with Vince Love and the Soul Cats on Saturday, September 26th from 7 to 9 pm at the pavilions on Coconut Point in the park. Vince Love was born with blues music in his blood. From a very young age, Vince has been preforming blues and Motown music with arrangements that will have audiences dancing in their seats and in the aisles. Regular park entry fees apply.

 

The Environmental Learning Center’s celebration of National Estuaries Week will be held from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, September 26th. There will be a full schedule of educational and fun events recognizing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s designation of the Indian River Lagoon as an “estuary of national significance.” Admission and parking for this event are free. Planned events include: Guided nature trail walks and storytelling; Canoe Excursions, Pond Dip and Seine Netting; Encounters in the 145 gallon Touch Tank, and Propagule Potting in the Greenhouse and the WaterVentures mobile learning lab. Weekend - HumaneSocietyThe Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, 6230 77th Street in Vero Beach, will hold a free drive-thru rabies vaccination clinic at the shelter on Sunday, September 27th from 6 to 8 pm. This event is only for dogs and cats belonging to Indian River County residents. Vaccinations will be administered on a first-come, first serve basis, while supplies last. Weekend - KSCJoin Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky on Wednesday, September 30th when they take their “shuttle” and go “outta this world” to experience a full day at the Kennedy Space Center Complex. The day will include a drive-by of an operational launch pad and the Vehicle Assembly building; admission to the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame; two IMAX films, “Hubble 3D” and “Journey to Space;” the Space Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit and Shuttle Launch Experience; meet an astronaut; the Rocket Garden; and the exhibit “Forever Remembered,” a memorial to the crews of the Space Shuttles Challenger and Columbia.
