Does postcard size really matter?

Howle 1 FrontCOMMENTARY

MARK SCHUMANN

Just days in advance of the highest holiday on the pagan calendar, Vero Beach City Council Candidate Harry Howle is flooding local mail boxes with large post cards howling promises too good to be true.

Essentially, Howle’s message is that he will cut the size of local government (City staff is already down 25 percent since 2009.), save the Lagoon, sell the electric system, and stop a speeding bullet train.  He will sue All Aboard Florida, sue the Florida Municipal Power Agency, lobby for Legislation, and defend that legislation before the Supreme Court, all without raising taxes. Somehow, “Superman” forgot the part of about a chicken in every pot and two cars in every garage.

When it comes to political post cards, if the message is one of pandering, does size really matter? We’ll know Nov. 3.

  1. The Tea party “pushes” Taxes and power costs, who gives a XXX.
BUT their real agenda is: Sell the parks, cemetary, VelcroBeach, get the county to run it all and build another Ft Lauderdale with hi-rise condos everywhere.

  2. Promises he cannot deliver. If he pursued each of his promises ,he would bankrupt the city. Perhaps this is what he wants. He says he is against All Aboard Florida, but when he ran last year he campaigned door to door with the ALL ABOARD FLORIDA LOBBYIST. This year he voted in favor of a BOARDING HOUSE as a member of the Code Enforcement Board.

  3. Mr. Church. With all do respect, who are you? It has been said you are a fictitious person. I cannot find any documentation through my research that you exist. Please let us know who you are so you can substantiate yourself. It would be disconcerting if you are fictitious: and not letting us know who you are would further that charge. If this doesn’t get approved for posting then that too is suspicious.

  4. We ask commenters to InsideVero.com to use their first and last name. If a commenter uses a name that does not match their email address, we ask for further evidence they are who the claim to me. Beyond that explanation, I will let “Mr. Church,” speak for himself, if he chooses to.”
