As a result of a public records request, InsideVero learned that Indian River Shores Mayor Brian Barefoot and Vero Beach Mayor Jay Kramer scheduled a meeting for yesterday at the John’s Island Club. According to sources that requested not to be identified, the subject of the meeting was to be the Shores’ assessment of the value of Vero Electric’s customer base within the Town.
InsideVero has made a follow-up public records request for copies of any documents either mayor took to their meeting, as well as copies of notes they may have made during the meeting.
It is well established that if Vero Electric is sold for too low a price, the result will be higher rates for the remaining customers. The public has a right to know what numbers Barefoot and Kramer are discussing.
