Sebastian Inlet State Park will hold the Night Sounds concert series on Saturday, December 26th from 7 to 9 pm showcasing the Country Classics Band. The Country Classics Band is a seven piece band with a legendry Nashville sparkle of family-oriented music. They play the best of classic country, a little bluegrass and a smidgen of Rock ‘N’ Roll from the 1950s to the 1990s. The Country Classics Band covers the music of Willie, Waylon, Haggard, Cash, Hank, George Strait, Chuck Berry and even Jimmy Buffet. The concert is free with regular park entry fees.
Sunday December 27
There will be a Kwanzaa Celebration Pot Luck at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, (UUFVB) on Sunday, December 27th at 11:30 am. This free event will feature the seven principles of Kwanzaa: Unity; Self Determination; Collective Work; Cooperative Economics; Purpose; Creativity; and Faith. The emphasis will be on Culture and Community and will include drumming, art, and poetry. Admission is free, but a donation of food for the Pot Luck would be appreciated. UUFVB is located at 1590 27th Avenue in Vero Beach.

Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky is planning a trip to the Sunrise Theatre on Saturday, January 2nd to see the live performance I’ve Lived!”This production is in celebration of the life of renowned Harlem Renaissance Woman, Zora Neale Hurston, the famous anthropologist, poet and writer who spent her last years in Ft. Pierce. In addition to Hurston’s most well known novel, “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” she wrote several novels, short stories, poems and newspaper columns. Hurston also taught and inspired many African-American young women in Ft. Pierce before her death in 1960. The writer of this production, Brenda M. Cooper, has a desire to portray Zora’s life and death story on stage with drama, singing and dancing. The cost is $75 for tickets and transportation.
