Folksinger Peter Yarrow will kick off the three-part Masters of Music Series at the Emerson Center in Vero Beach on Wednesday, January 13th at 7 pm retaining the legacy of Peter, Paul & Mary. This Peter Yarrow performance assures a memorable evening of music, camaraderie and “Puff’s special magic” for everyone, young and old alike.  A complimentary coffee bar will be  available for guests to enjoy. Prices range from $38 to $83 (single tickets) or for the 3 concert series, $100 to $225. Student tickets are $23 for a balcony seat location.

weekend - Fweb-ront-cover-FINAL3“Awakening YOUR Intuitive Self” by Nina Dockery, Ed.D. will be held at the Vero Beach Book Center on Wednesday, January 13th at 6 pm.  Nina will share some of the ways people are intuitive and stories from her book, A Seeker’s Journey:  How to Use Intuition, Emotions and Magic for Spiritual Growth.

weekend - WEB-David_Amado__shadows_up_closeThe Atlantic Classical Orchestra presents its Masterworks Guest Conductor Series featuring Guest Conductor David Amado and pianist Lindsay Garritson on Thursday, January 14th with a lecture at 6:40 pm and performance at 7:30 pm at the Waxlax Center at St. Edward’s School in Vero Beach.  The program features Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 and Overture to Oberon by Carl Maria Von Weber. A lecture on Florida Native Ornamentals will be held at McKee Botanical Garden, 350 US Highway 1 in Vero Beach, on Thursday, January 14th from 11 am to Noon. Learn about some of Florida’s native ornamentals, where to plant them, tips for care and maintenance, and more. The cost is $15 members, $20 non-members. Pre-registration is required. Friday, Jan. 15

Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky will have a  trip to St. Augustine for Nights of Lights, Wine and Chocolate on Friday, January 15th. Main Street Studios, 2036 14th Avenue  in Vero Beach, presents Art from the Heart Open House on Friday, January 15th from 5 to 8 pm.  A portion of the proceeds of Art Sales will be donated to The Arc of Indian River County.  Learn what their clients are doing to improve the quality of the Lagoon.

Saturday, Jan. 16

The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County presents Bark in the Park on Saturday, January 16th from 10 am to 4 pm at Riverside Park.  Participate in a dog parade, take your dog on an agility play course, watch the world-famous Disc Connected K9s Frisbee dog team and see the Sheriff’s Office K9 demonstration as well as food and craft vendors and children’s activities. weekend - WEB-Mark Kelly M-Photo (High Res with Gabby Giffords HEADSHOT 2012)The Emerson Center, 1590 27th Avenue in Vero Beach, launches it’s Celebrated Speakers Series on Saturday, January 16th with the husband-and-wife team of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and Astronaut and U.S. Navy Captain Mark Kelly.  They will recount the miraculous details about Giffords’ would-be assassin attack and the ongoing journey they have shared of strength, courage and determination. Art & Culture in St Lucie County

The Treasure Coast Youth Symphony performance “Dances” concert will be held at St. Bernadette Church in St. Lucie West on Monday, January 18th at 7 pm.
