A controversial water district tax cut that could have generated $21 million for Everglades restoration will save South Florida businesses millions instead.

The South Florida Water Management District’s 15 top taxpayers, for example, will save a combined $1.2 million annually, according to a Treasure Coast Newspapers investigation. The biggest winner is Florida Power & Light Co., which will save an estimated $531,550 annually. Continue reading…
