Teachers say ‘enough is enough’

Throngs of angry, frustrated public school teachers filled the Capital Courtyard Thursday demanding lawmakers listen to their complaints about high-stakes testing, low pay and being held to different standards than charter schools.

“It’s sad. So sad. Greed is driving education policy,” said Mary Maxwell, a Key West High School English teacher. “It is so much about buying and selling the test. Textbook manufacturers are benefiting from telling us what to do and when to do it. It is total baloney.” Continue reading…
