The Vero Beach Art Club presents “Art by the Sea” at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, 3001 Riverside Park Drive in the Holmes Great Hall.  The opening reception will be held on Friday, January 22nd from 5 to 8 pm and features the artwork of members of the Art Club and the Museum.   This  prestigious annual exhibit will continue on Saturday, January 23rd (9 am -5 pm) and Sunday, January 24th (10 am – 4 pm.)  Visit VeroBeachArtClub.org for more information.

The Indian River Symphonic Association presents the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, from Gdansk, Poland on Friday, January 22nd at  Community Church of Vero Beach at 7:30 pm.   Principal Conductor Massimiliano Caldi will lead the Orchestra in performing R. Wagner’s Overture to The Flying Dutchman, WWV63, and will feature Pianist Marcin Koziak, playing Fredrick Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.2 in F Minor, Op.21. Also featured is N. weekend - dancers web_227Ballet Vero Beach presents the World Premiere of Adam Schnell’s Pastoral Symphony with performances on Friday, January 22nd at 8 pm and Saturday, January 23rd at 2 pm and 8 pm at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. Pastoral Symphony is inspired by the stories that pop into one’s head while observing other people in daily life. Vero Beach Elks Lodge #1774 has its 7th Annual Indian River County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Fundraising Dinner/Dance on Saturday, January 23rd.with cocktails at 5:30  pm, Shrimp Cocktail Appetizer and Irish Loin of Pork with Jameson Whiskey Sauce at 6:30 pm. The American Association of University Women, Vero Beach is pleased to bring Girl Rising, a documentary about the power of educating girls and the power that resides in the individual to learn.   It will be shown on Saturday, January 23rd at 2 pm at the Majestic Theater, 940 14th Lane, Vero Beach.  Girl Rising is a documentary that brings us nine unforgettable girls who were born into unforgiving circumstances. Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre brings the sellout production “Between the Moon & New York City” back to Quilted Giraffe Restaurant on Sunday, January 24th.  This performance celebrates the life and times of songwriter Peter Allen. Monday, Jan. 25

Hope for Families Center presents the 8th Annual Vero’s Top Chef Challenge. The qualifying event will be held at the Indian River State College, Richardson Center from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, January 25th and the Finale will be held at the Club at Pointe West from 6 to 9 pm on February 22nd.  The chefs from 14 of Vero’s restaurants will compete for the title of Top Chef.  Tickets ($45 & $65) may be purchased by  visiting HopeForFamiliesCenter.com.
