Beautification Weekend set for Feb. 13-14

NEW RELEASE

In conjunction with the Vero Beach City Council, the Tree & Beautification Commission has scheduled a second annual “Beautification Weekend” for Feb. 13-14.

The City’s beautification efforts date back to as early as 1930, when annual beautification days were held in honor of Dr. Humiston, for whom Humiston Park is named.

The Commission is encouraging residents to clean up their yards, plant a tree, trim a hedge, plant flowers, paint a mailbox, mend a fence or engage in other beautification activities over the weekend and motivate others to take similar actions. Work as a team on a larger project, or help a friend or family member with an overdue task. Every little bit makes a difference.

Taking actions to beautify the City is to everyone’s benefit, making Vero Beach an even more beautiful and attractive place to live.
