Future of riverfront properties to be spotlighted in two special called meetings at City Hall today

Possible uses for the City’s power plant and wastewater treatment plant and the old postal annex will be discussed today as the Vero Beach City Council meets in special session at 9:30. This evening, the Marine and Recreation Commissions will meet at 6:00 in joint session to discuss the future of the centrally located properties.

Last week, reporting on behalf of a broad coalition, Indian River Chamber of Commerce president Penny Chandler urged the City Council to engage the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council in helping to lead the community through a process of seeking input and building consensus for how to develop the properties.
