COMMENTARY
MARK SCHUMANN
Yesterday, Vero Beach and Indian River County residents began receiving an announcement of the launch of the Vero Report, a new website offering aggregated news of Vero Beach and Indian River County.
Depending on your perspective, Vero Beach and Indian River County is either blessed, or cursed with many disparate sources of news and commentary. The Press Journal, Vero Beach 32963/Vero News offer extensive print circulation. News coverage presented by these two local news giants, which are at times biased and limited in their offering, is supplemented and occasionally contradicted by Bea-isms, InsideVero, Lemmon Lines, the Vero Communique, and Vero Vine.
At InsideVero, we see the introduction of the Vero Report as a positive development. For those who want to be better informed, and who would rather not drink days after day and week after week from the same biased well – be it the island weekly or the Press Journal — the Vero Report can serve as a hub of news and as a community square.
Following is the full text of yesterday’s announcement of the launch of the Vero Report.
I would like to invite you to visit a brand new website which aggregates all the political news in Indian River County into one easy, simple to use website. Each headline consists of a link to an existing article from one of the many news sources in our community. There are also permanent links to every journalist, news source, and every local government agency’s meeting information, so if I’ve missed anyone or anything, please let me know.
The goal of this website is to eliminate searching multiple sites to find political news. This is meant to promote education on the issues to the citizens of Indian River County and will hopefully increase traffic to all the news sources included on the site.
If you have any questions, concerns, would like to let us know we missed something, or would like to inquire about advertising, please contact us at contact@veroreport.com
Happy reading!

Who is the “I”??????jmcap@gate.net
Good question. Based on the initial story selections, this new site doesn’t appear to be in the hands of anyone with a particular agenda. For example, it doesn’t have Charlie Wilson’s fingerprints on it.
To say that the Press Journal,32963/VeroNews are at times biased is a gross understatement. This is especially true when it concerns the electric sale. In the case of the Press Journal it is highly biased in favor of FPL and anti Vero Electric. We all know why! Of late the Press Journal has resorted to a news blackout concerning the One Billion dollar increase they are seeking. We all know why! Many articles written in 32963 are also biased and more strident at times. Outside news is very, very welcome.
