MARK SCHUMANN

Last week, Inside Vero reported that in the past two years the County has reimbursed Commissioner Tim Zorc $18,539 for travel and travel related expenses. That story prompted questions from readers about how Zorc’s travel expenses compared to those of the other commissioners.
According to records provided by the County’s finance department, in 2015 Zorc was reimbursed more for travel and travel related expenses that the other four commissioners combined.
2015 travel reimbursement for members of the Indian River County Commission:
Tim Zorc – $11,579.64
Peter O’Bryan – $5,132.18
Bob Solari – $1,638.00
Wesley Davis – $1,097.91
Joe Flescher – $1,039.91

I had a feeling…
We didn’t pay for his ride on Elite Airlines’ first trip roundtrip from Vero Beach, did we?
Where the heck did he go that it cost the taxpayers $11,579.64 in 2015?
Maybe and just maybe Mr. Zorc “had” his sights set on a bigger position with the State or a certain agency and needed the exposure in the capital. The support for Mr. Earman is extremely strong with the local elected officials, as evidenced by last night’s fundraiser.
Mr. Zorc’s $18,000’s worth of travel expenses is certainly going to hurt his slim chance of getting reelected, as shown by the inability to raise money.
Having both Zorc’s running with all of their baggage in our county is an insult to our integrity. The citizens need to come forward to run for the open and unopposed seats in the School Board race, as they have for the other races.
Me thinks something stinks.
