NEWS RELEASE
Spring is here, and summer won’t be far behind. It’s time to register for summer day camp for your child or grandchild. The Environmental Learning Center offers Summer Day Camps for fun, learning & discovery for Pre-K – 8th grade campers. Our dynamic summer camp teachers have created nature immersion programs perfect for a fun summer of learning in nature!
Keeping children and pre-teens engaged and learning over the summer is a proven way to keep and enhance all they’ve learned in school during the year. This 64-acre Wabasso Island ELC campus, surrounded by the beautiful Indian River Lagoon, provides access to both land and water activities. All are designed to create and enhance a love for learning in nature.
There will be scavenger hunts on land and on water to discover all that nature has to offer around us! Pond Dip-Netting to discover exciting marine life, bug hunting, making nature crafts, bake s’mores in our one-of-a-kind solar oven, explore the mangrove forest, canoeing, pontoon boat rides, visits to the ELC’s Discovery Station with touch tank, and more – all based on an age appropriate curriculum which you can find at on our website at www.environmentallearningcenter.org. All activities are led by trained ELC naturalists assisted by volunteer camp counselors.
Pre-registration is a must, and admission is limited so sign up now! For details about dates, times and prices, visit the website at www.environmentallearningcenter.org and click on “programs.” To pre-register, please call (772) 589-5050, x-114.
