IRNA to celebrate Joe Baird’s career at April 14 luncheon

NEWS RELEASE

Joe Baird
Joe Baird

The IRNA is hosting a luncheon on April 14th at noon to honor County Administrator Joe Baird. Joe has announced his retirement effective the end of June and this is our opportunity to thank him for more than 30 years of service to our county.

Please join us at the Osceola Bistro, downtown Vero Beach, as Fran Adams, Chester Clem and others recall stories of Joe Baird’s tenure with the County.

Joe will be leaving a legacy of what some people describe as Fiscal Conservatism which others would bemoan as Absolute Frugality. There was always the responsibility of managing taxpayer dollars efficiently and Joe will be long remembered for some major accomplishments such as consolidating fire and emergency medical services, facilitating the purchase of Lost Tree Islands and helping to bring water lines to Wabasso.

Celebrate his legacy with us on April 14 by responding to this email to RSVP. The cost of the luncheon will be $20. We hope to see you there!

  1. Yes, a celebration indeed!

I’ll celebrate that my husband is not sick or full of cancer from working in a fire station full of mold and rats! But, money was saved!

We can all celebrate that not one paramedic, firefighter or patient was injured or killed with no brakes on an ambulance. But, money was saved!

Celebrate indeed as no one who was on the roads while Mr Baird was “lawfully” drinking and driving, were killed or injured. Celebrate good attorneys.

And finally, celebrate that Mr Baird and his side kick John King assisted with my husband’s decision to retire.

Celebrate indeed! Money was saved! Lives were at risk!
