weekend - fLAMETREEThe Flametree Clay Gallery, 2041 14th Avenue in Vero Beach presents “Under the Oaks”, a show featuring local clay artists who were exhibiting at Under The Oaks last month, featuring the works of Rae Marie Crisel, Karen Ekonomo (Keko) and Peggy Thomas. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 5 pm.

 

 

Gymnastics Registration Opens

weekend - image001The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department is holding Gymnastics registration beginning at 8 am on weekdays at Leisure Square Fitness Center (3705 16th Street). Gymnastics classes are available for beginners through advanced students, and toddlers through teens. Weekday and Saturday classes are available to fit every schedule. Nationally, women working full time in the United States are paid just 79 percent of what men are paid—a gap of 21%. To raise awareness of this inequity, American Association of University Women, Vero Beach, is highlighting Equal Pay Day by the following activities: A proclamation about Equal Pay Day was signed by our County Commissioners on Tuesday, March 22nd; Another proclamation will be signed by our City Council on Tuesday, April 5th at 9:30 at City Hall; AAUW Vero Beach will have a “headquarters” table at the Main Library on April 12th from 10 am to 4 pm and local shops will offer women a 21% discount on merchandise on April 12th.
