VNA Home Health and Hospice is pleased to announce Katalin ‘Mimi’ Bott, a licensed practical nurse (LPN), has been named VNA’s spring 2016 associate of the quarter. Bott has been with the VNA since October 2014 and was selected by a group of peers for her integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect and excellent customer service. Bott was nominated for the honor after the caregiver of a VNA home healthcare patient wrote a letter describing the wonderful care Bott provided the caregiver’s bother. The letter commended Bott on the level of skill she had for proper wound care and applauded her “positive and humorous approach” to care.

A Florida native, Bott has lived in Vero Beach for 20 years. In 2009, her husband was involved in a near-fatal car accident, resulting in several years of reconstruction surgeries, and time spent in rehabilitation facilities. Shortly after her husband was recovering from his last surgery, Bott decided to make a career change to become a nurse. “I guess I have always been a caregiver, caring for my mother who has progressive Multiple Sclerosis, so it just came natural that this is what God intended for me to do all along,”

Bott said. In June of 2012, she graduated from Indian River State College’s practical nursing program. In her free time, Bott enjoys spending time with her husband and 4-year-old son, and cooking and entertaining for friends and family.
