Some 50 softball teams to visit Vero Beach this weekend

Softball Factory Showcase this weekend at Historic Dodgertown

The showcase will kick off Friday at 5 p.m. at Historic Dodgertown’s softball complex.

Nearly 50 softball teams will travel to Historic Dodgertown this weekend to compete in the 2016 Under Armor Softball Factory Spring Classic Showcase. The May 20-22 tournament will be divided into 14U, 16U A, 18U A and 18U A Gold divisions.

Each team will play five showcase format games. The Spring Classic has been widely publicized to college recruiters and will feature a complimentary real-time scouting blog highlighting top players for recruiters and travel teams to view.

The showcase will kick off Friday at 5 p.m. at Historic Dodgertown’s softball complex, as well as North and South County Parks. Games will continue Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. There is no admission fee to enter, and concessions will be available.

After the signing of a three-year agreement in May 2015, Historic Dodgertown was named the Southern Home of Softball Factory. This is the second event Softball Factory has hosted at the facility in 2016.
