Carpenter elected to Republican Executive Committee

BEA GARDNER/BEA-ISMS

I called to congratulate Curtis Carpenter on his recent acceptance to the Republican Executive Committee and in our conversation I came to the conclusion that Curtis is not a RINO (Republican in Name Only). He takes his oath as a committee man with the REC seriously. How do I know? Well, somehow the conversation turned to the Presidential Election and even though he is not a Trump fan by any means he says he will not be voting for Hillary because that would violate his oath to the party. 1. Not voting for Hillary makes nice words. Not voting for Trump is 1/2 of a vote for Hillary.

Do the thing right guys. Our fair country cannot tolerate another 4-8 years of socialism, lies, deception and favoritism. Hold your nose and pull the lever.

  2. Not being a Trump fan does not equate to not voting for him. Many people will not be fans of Trump but will vote for him anyway. This is also true for non Clinton supporters. I thought the major points of the article dealt with the efforts of certain people who tried to stop Carpenter’s appointment to the Republican Executive Committee but failed to achieve their goals.

  3. If one takes an oath, it is expected that person is serious about following it. I wish Mr. Carpenter well. Thankfully, even in local politics I have the freedom to vote for the person and not the party even though I am, apparently, a RINO.

  4. It looks to me like Vic DeMattia has got the presidential election on his mind which tells me that he is not paying attention to local politics. And, as the former speaker of the house, Tip Oneil said, all politics are local. After reading this article about Curtis Carpenter it should be very obvious that the point I was trying to make was that the Republican party of IRC should embrace new faces in the party rather than fight them. It is the only way to grow the party into the diverse party that the Republicans seem to be avoiding especially here at the local level.
